Reducing pollution from other sources

Pollution in Lambeth can also come from sources outside of the borough as well as from public events, local manufacturing or industrial pollution.

Other factors that contribute towards poor air quality require us to take a range of different approaches to reducing their impact. This could mean addressing emissions released by heavy industrial machinery or waste, as well as looking at ways to reduce the chemical sources of indoor pollution.

Actions in the proposed Air Quality Action Plan to reduce pollution from other sources:

Events - for large and small events held in Lambeth, we will be strengthening the requirements in the council’s Green Events Guide using measures such as consolidating the amount of traffic caused by onsite deliveries. For example, implementing on-site renewable power generation where possible and using mains power rather than temporary power generation.
